Dressed in a blazer, fashionably scuffed jeans and sandals, Garrett Walters, 16, from Frankfort, emerged from his audition with his dad John, 47.


Garrett sang Michael Buble's "Sway" and Elton John's "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me for the judges, but didn't qualify for the next round. He's not devastated by the results.
"They told me my voice wasn't strong enough," he said. "I feel OK."

Garrett's favorite rockstars are Robert Plant and Freddie Mercury, and his favorite "Idol" is season 7 winner David Cook. "I like that he's a rocker and they finally let a rocker through."
