Supporting friends in tow

Nashville resident Jonathan Schaeffer was up from the Music City Friday to support his friend who was singing at the “Idol” call-back auditions.

The friend must remain nameless, Jonathan said, because, “They (the ‘Idol’ producers) said he could not have his name publicized.

“They let us in (together), but not where they were singing.”

Medha Gandhi, from Columbus, Ohio, felt no such restriction.

She attended the call-back auditions Friday with her boyfriend, contestant Patrick Warner. Patrick was to sing “Beth” by Kiss, and “Billie Jean” by Micheal Jackson.

“He hasn’t sung yet and if he makes it this round, he’ll be called back Monday to see the judges,” she said.

Medha estimated that more than 300 people were there to audition.

Andrew Wagner of Cincy, attended with his girlfriend — again, one without a name — who was to sing “Why Why Why” by Billy Currington.
